About Us

Tadamon – The Egyptian Refugee Multicultural Council

Tadamon is an independent, nonpolitical network of civil society organizations working to promote the welfare of refugees in the Egyptian society.

Tadamon (in Arabic) means “solidarity”

Tadamon began in 2006 when our founder, unified more than 50 community-based refugee collectives, believing that we could accomplish more as a united organization.

Today, Tadamon is the largest refugee-serving NGO in Egypt with more than 1,000 refugee staff members. Tadamon is run and operated by refugees who are the stakeholders, the beneficiaries, and the implementors of all of Tadamon’s projects.

Mission
Tadamon works with all refugee groups and Egyptians to promote the welfare of all members of the community.

Objectives
1- Promote inclusive access to social and economic rights and basic services in marginalized neighborhoods that refugees and Egyptians cohabit.

3- Facilitate capacity building for members where necessary and provide training and advice through and to its members, by sharing experiences, information and skills.

4- Facilitate needs assessment studies and research where possible.

5- Provide a general mechanism for the exchange of ideas, information and strategies in the field through meetings, electronic communications and other events- for all or some members to develop joint projects and undertake cooperative action.
